Folle de Joie translates to "crazy with joy", which is extremely appropriate for everyone I work with to spritz on on a Friday. Since I am not a perfume expert, I am going to go ahead and take the product info directly from Birchbox to give you an idea what the Folle de Joie scent is like.
The perfume opens with a burst of freshness from an intimate blend of calming citrus and a light woodsy floral, giving away to playful hints of cognac. Its middle notes—jasmine and Damascenia rose—give the fragrance a carefree, summery vibe. Finally, warm base notes of spicy woods and rich leather add a seductive finish. Plus, the vintage-inspired glass bottle adds a chic touch to any vanity.
Consensus at the office? Folle de Joie eau de parfum smells pretty. After spritzing it on this morning, we all had lingering scent still in the afternoon. I think this fragrance is nice and clean - one person compared it to Marc Jacobs Daisy. I am not sure myself, but that is what they tell me.
I think this is a fragrance I would consider buying, if it wasn't quite so expensive. A beautiful 3.4 fl oz bottle retails for $98, which is a little steep for a perfume for me. I also usually like to buy smaller bottles because I prefer to switch up what I am using. From what I can tell, Folle de Joie is sold exclusively through the Birchbox shop, and the Joie website.
Anywhoo, that's it for the October Birchbox. Depsite the epic fail with the Miss Jessie's conditioner, I loved my box this month. I feel like I got great value, and really enjoyed the Folle de Joie perfume, the lip gloss, and the chapstick we received. If you are on the fence about Birchbox, it's time to get off it! Three of my co-workers got on the waitlist after this morning's perfume sampling sesh, and currently Birchbox has a 2 week wait. So whether you are going to subscribe yourself, or give this subscription as an awesome gift - I suggest you click here and get on it!
See you tomorrow for something new!
